I also experimented with twisting and warping an audio waveform, synced to the same music as the spectrum. After Effects has two different audio effects: waveform and spectrum. The spectrum is what we normally thing of as reacting to the different frequencies within the song. The waveform is slightly different and I used this as a background effect. Since it syncs up perfectly with the song and the spectrum, it gives a nice effect and added impact of the song. I did this tutorial as it would be valuable and useful in my idea of an infographic video about record players!
